Why should I be properly fit?
Did you know that 80% of women are wearing the wrong bra size?
At LiviRae Lingerie, our Bra Fit Specialists undergo extensive training to ensure you’re not only wearing the correct size, but also the best styles for your bust volume and body shape. After all, the bra that’s perfect for someone else might not be the one that brings out the best in you—and we’re here to help you find your ideal fit!
How do I find my correct size?
Finding your perfect bra size is easier (and more fun) than you think with LiviRae Lingerie! It all starts with a professional bra fitting—because the key to finding the right size and style is knowing your true measurements.
Our Bra Fit Specialists are here to take the guesswork out of sizing, whether you visit us in-store for a hands-on experience or join us online for a virtual fitting from the comfort of your couch. We’ll help you discover the perfect size and styles that make you look and feel fabulous!
How often should I be fitted for bras?
We recommend getting re-fitted every 6 to 12 months. While some may maintain a consistent size over time, most of us experience natural fluctuations in size, sometimes more frequently than we realize. Even if your current bra feels like it still fits, keep in mind that it’s likely stretched over time and may no longer be the right size.
What are some signs I might be wearing the wrong bra size?
Most of the women we fit come in wearing a band size that is too large and a cup size that is too small. Here are some key indicators that you may be wearing the wrong size:
- If you notice the band of your bra riding up your back, it could mean the band is a bit too loose. When this happens, your bra isn’t offering the support you need, and your shoulders end up doing more work than they should.
- If you’re experiencing spillage or the "double-bubble" effect, where your breasts are overflowing from the cup, or if you find yourself constantly adjusting throughout the day, it’s a sign that your cup size may be too small. Your bra cup should fully contain your breast tissue, and the underwire should sit flush against your ribcage. When the cup is too small, you may not only notice spillage at the front, but you could also feel the underwire digging into the side of your breast, which can be quite uncomfortable.
- If your bra shifts or your breasts start to fall out from the bottom when you raise your arms, it might mean your band is a bit too loose. For the best support, your bra band should fit snugly against your body and stay comfortably in place all day long.
I’m pregnant, and my breasts are growing fast! Is it too soon to start shopping for nursing bras?
Breast size can change significantly, especially in the first 16 weeks of pregnancy. We're here to help you find stylish and comfortable bras that will support you throughout your pregnancy and while nursing, ensuring you feel confident and well-supported.
As your body changes, remember to get refitted regularly to avoid discomfort, lack of support, and potential strain on your breasts and milk ducts. The ideal time to shop for nursing bras is around your eighth month, and at LiviRae, we offer a wonderful selection of both wired and wire-free nursing bras to keep you feeling comfortable and supported.

What is the difference between US and UK bra sizing?
At LiviRae Lingerie, we offer bras in both US and UK sizes to give you the best selection possible. One key difference is that UK sizing tends to increase the cup volume without affecting the support of the band size. This means that if you're looking for a fuller cup, UK sizing can provide more options, especially in the larger cup sizes, without compromising the fit and support of the band.
We know that finding the right bra can be tricky, which is why our fit experts are here to help. With their in-depth understanding of both US and UK sizing, they’ll guide you to the perfect fit for your body. Whether you need a hard-to-find size or just want more variety, we’ve got you covered—we carry just about every size made, so you can feel confident and comfortable every day.
What’s the best way to wash my bras?
Many women wash their bras in the machine on a cool, delicate cycle, using a zipper bag and a gentle detergent designed for lingerie. While this method cleans your bras, it can shorten their lifespan. At LiviRae Lingerie, we recommend hand washing with Fashion Care wash. After washing, be sure to rinse thoroughly and hang your bras to dry. This helps preserve the fabric and fit of your fine lingerie, ensuring they last longer.
NEVER, under any circumstances, put your bras in the dryer. The heat can deteriorate the fibers of delicate fabrics, stretching, warping, and ultimately damaging your bras. Remember, if you take care of your bras and swimwear, they’ll take care of you! And if you find yourself constantly scrambling to clean your bras, it might be time to add a few more to your rotation.
How many bras should I have in my bra collection?
The number of bras you should have in your wardrobe depends on your lifestyle and how often you wear them. However, a good rule of thumb is to have at least 5 to 7 bras to ensure you always have a clean, well-fitting option. Here's a breakdown of how you might want to structure your collection:
Everyday Bra (3-4) – These are your go-to, comfortable bras for everyday wear.
Specialty Bra (1-2) – This could include sports bras, strapless bras, or bras for specific outfits like plunge dresses.
Lingerie or Statement Bra (1-2) – A beautifully designed bra that makes you feel confident and special, for days when you want to treat yourself.
Sleep or Lounge Bra (1) – A comfortable, relaxed bra for lounging at home or sleeping in.
The key is rotation—having a few options for each category ensures that your bras last longer, and you always have a clean one ready.
